Frakes Engineering, Inc. was formed in 1977 with the express intent of providing turnkey automation control system integration and engineering.  The founders, Bill and Jim Frakes, foresaw the need for an independent firm specializing in industrial control systems.  This vision allowed Frakes Engineering to be the first in the Indianapolis area to provide these services independent of any alliance or manufacturer.

Today, Frakes Engineering is well diversified across many industries, with specializations in water and wastewater, corrugated board, paper converting, power plant flue gas conditioning, the automotive supply chain, food and pharmaceuticals, specialty metals and others.

Part of our commitment is our membership in the Automation Alliance Group, a combination of independent systems integrators providing an extensive knowledge base of automation and information systems design and manufacture for virtually all industries.  Members in this partnership include:
